Assoc. Prof. Dr Maisarah binti Jalalonmuhali

Dr Maisarah is currently a Consultant in Internal Medicine and Nephrology at the University Malaya Medical Centre and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Medicine at the University of Malaya. She graduated from the University of Malaya in 2006 and subsequently undertook her speciality training in Internal Medicine and Nephrology at the same esteemed institution. In September 2015, she passed the Malaysian Nephrology Board Exit Examination as the top candidate and successfully qualified as a registered Nephrologist with the National Specialist Registry. Despite her significant involvement in clinical services and teaching, she is also actively engaged in research activities. Her previous research has received numerous

recognitions at various clinical conferences, including third place for poster presentation at the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) in conjunction with the World Congress of Nephrology 2019 in Melbourne, Australia (ISN Fellow meeting), as well as third place at the Congress of The Asian Society of Transplantation 2019 in India. She has a keen interest in renal transplantation and immunology and completed a fellowship programme with the Central and Northern Adelaide Renal and Transplantation Services at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, funded by the ISN and UMSC Care Fund in 2018. Additionally, she has published her clinical research in numerous peer-reviewed international medical journals. In 2024, she completed her master’s in Organ Transplantation from Liverpool University. Her passion for education continues, and she is now pursuing her master’s in medical education.
