Dr Aizuniza Abdullah

Dr. Aizuniza Binti Abdullah is a Consultant in Public Health and currently serves as the Head of the Cardiovascular Disease and Diabetes Unit, Disease Control Division, Ministry of Health Malaysia, Putrajaya. She provides strategic leadership in the National Strategic Plan for NCDs, focusing on diabetes, cardiovascular disease prevention, obesity control, and strengthening clinical audit and quality management.

Her professional experience includes service in the Family Health Development Division, where she contributed to primary health care and school health programmes, as well as her role as District Health Officer, managing public health services and outbreak responses. She also served as the Epidemiology NCD Officer in Pahang, overseeing NCD surveillance, planning, and interagency collaboration.

Dr. Aizuniza is a strong advocate for healthy lifestyles and NCD risk reduction, promoting policies on reduced sugar and salt intake and amplifying these messages through media and social platforms. She also mentors medical officers preparing for a career in public health and supervises Family Medicine Specialists pursuing subspecialty training in NCDs, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to understand policy processes and translate them into effective practice. Internationally, she has represented Malaysia in high-level forums, advancing NCD policy dialogue and collaboration.
