Professor Kattesh V. Katti, MSc Ed, PhD, DSc, FRSC, FNAI, FAIMB—internationally acclaimed as the “Father of Green Nanotechnology”—is a Curators’ Professor of Radiology and Director of the Institute of Green Nanotechnology at the University of Missouri, USA. An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Science, he is a pioneer in nanomedicine, radiopharmaceutical sciences, and the discovery of Nano-Ayurvedic Medicine, a novel medical modality that integrates nuclear science, radiochemistry, and holistic medicine.
His groundbreaking work has led to over 300 publications, more than 150 inventions, and 50+ patents, with several cancer therapies and nanomaterials already in clinical use. For his discoveries in SPECT/PET imaging, nanomedicine, and radiopharmaceuticals, he has received numerous global honours, including the International Hevesy Medal Award (regarded as the Nobel Prize of Nuclear Sciences), election as Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the National Academy of Inventors, and recognition as one of the 25 Most Influential Scientists in Molecular Imaging worldwide.
In 2025, Professor Katti was invited to brief India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on his Nano-Ayurvedic Medicine discovery. His innovations continue to impact healthcare, cosmeceuticals, food science, adaptive clothing, and sustainable energy.
