Dr. Surina binti Zaman Huri is a medical lecturer and geriatric psychiatrist at the University of Malaya and University Malaya Medical Centre. She obtained her medical degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2002 and later completed her Master of Medicine (Psychiatry) at Universiti Sains Malaysia. She pursued a Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry through the Ministry of Health Malaysia, which included training at Hospital Tuanku Jaafar, Hospital Kuala Lumpur, and Changi General Hospital, Singapore. With over two decades of experience, she has served in various psychiatric and medical roles across Malaysia. Her research and publications focus on dementia, schizophrenia, and geriatric mental health. She has been actively involved in clinical trials, psychoeducation, and developing dementia care modules. A committed advocate, she contributes to professional committees, conducts workshops, and delivers talks on dementia, depression, insomnia, and caregiver support, making significant contributions to advancing geriatric psychiatry and mental health in Malaysia.
