Dr. Wong Chee Kuan is a Consultant Respiratory Physician with extensive expertise in obstructive lung diseases and respiratory infections. He graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), obtained his MRCP (UK) in 2010, and completed his Respiratory Fellowship at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) in 2016. His clinical and research interests focus on severe asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), tuberculosis, and lung cancer. Dr. Wong has secured research support from the World Health Organization (WHO) for the EVALI study and serves as a co-investigator with RESPIRE (UK) in a smear-negative pulmonary tuberculosis project in Sabah. He has established a dedicated Difficult-to-Treat Asthma clinic and is actively engaged in capacity-building through training nurse educators and physicians in asthma and COPD management. In addition, he contributes to professional development as a trainer for the Malaysian Thoracic Society’s spirometry workshops and as a committee member of its Inhaler Education and Training Steering Committee.
