Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shunsuke Kon’s research focuses on carcinogenesis, with a particular interest in how multicellular organisms respond to the sudden emergence of transformed cells. His work has contributed to uncovering the body’s intrinsic anti-tumour defence mechanism, known as cell competition, which plays a critical role in eliminating damaged and potentially harmful cells.
