Dr. Tang Yin Quan is the Programme Director of the Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Hons) at Taylor’s University, Malaysia. He leads programme development, accreditation compliance, and industry engagement to ensure graduates are prepared for the dynamic health and medical sciences sector. His priorities include enhancing programme visibility, aligning content with industry needs, and fostering student success and professional recognition.
Dr. Tang is a leading researcher in bioinformatics, drug discovery, and peptide therapeutics, with a strong focus on cancer biology and regenerative medicine. He is the main inventor of a Malaysian patent on an anticancer peptide derived from scorpion venom (PI2024002513), a milestone that highlights his innovative contribution to therapeutic peptide research. His work has been recognised through competitive awards and grants such as the MAKNA Cancer Research Award, the Toray Science Foundation Research Grant, and the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS).
Committed to nurturing future scientists, Dr. Tang has supervised numerous undergraduate and postgraduate projects, guiding students toward impactful research outputs and publications. He actively drives international collaborations with universities and industry partners in Asia and the UK, and contributes to the scientific community as a symposium chair, invited speaker, and conference judge.
