Prof Dr Wong Eng Hwa

Professor Dr. Eng Hwa Wong is a medical microbiologist and the Programme Director for Postgraduate Studies at the School of Medicine, Taylor’s University, Malaysia. She earned her Ph.D. in Medical Microbiology from the University of Malaya in 2008 and joined Taylor’s University in 2009 as a Senior Lecturer, where she has since played a pivotal role in teaching and research.
Prof. Wong’s research focuses on infectious diseases, immunology, and host-pathogen interactions. Her work has significantly advanced the understanding of microbial pathogenesis and the development of therapeutic strategies. She has authored over 80 publications, which have collectively received more than 1,400 citations and over 20,000 reads, reflecting her substantial impact on the scientific community.
In addition to her research, Prof. Wong is deeply committed to academic leadership, curriculum development, and mentoring emerging researchers. Her dedication to fostering scientific inquiry and postgraduate excellence has helped cultivate a new generation of medical professionals. Through her combined efforts in research, teaching, and leadership, Professor Dr. Wong continues to make meaningful contributions to medical science and education in Malaysia and beyond.
